The Travaglini 2015 Gattinara Riserva is showing beautifully right now, thanks to its aromatic depth and intensity and the silky impression it leaves on the palate. The wine is so true to Nebbiolo, with wild cherry and plum backed by tar, spice and powdered licorice. It also remains truthful to the vintage with joyous and fruit-filled exuberance. If you are new to the Gattinara appellation and you love Nebbiolo, you would do well to try this wine (in its trademarked asymmetrical bottle).
