Telmo Rodriguez is a collaboration between long-time friends Telmo Rodrguez and Pablo Eguzkiza. They have worked relentlessly for the past 30 years to promote Spain's varied regions, with a concentration on historic vineyards and indigenous varietals. Despite the fact that they work with a huge number of sites, they make it a point to manufacture each parcel to the greatest possible standard. 

Monastrell (also known as Mourvedre or Mataro) is grown along Spain's east coast, south of Catalua. The wine is made from bush vines growing in sandy loam soil at high altitudes.  Al-muvedre is a monovarietal wine from Monastrell, which represents the spirit of the Mediterranean, this more southern and luminous expression which Monastrell manages to offer in a unique way.

Al-Muvedre has a fine and polished nose - floral, figgy, and gently meaty, it’s a delicate and perfectly varietal expression of Monastrell. Soft, wide tannins start the mouth off and a long roll of ripe acid in the back half really straightens things out. Almuvedre has long been one of the bargain wines of the world and the style-quality-value amalgam continues to boggle the mind.
