| The winery of Mas Amiel started with a bet: lost by a Bishop to engineer Raymond Etienne Amiel in 1816. 80 ha with 10 ha planted to vines, the Domaine de Goudous changed hands and the winery began as we know it today. In 1907, it was purchased by Charles Dupuy who continued to develop it until his death in 1916. The next two generations started the production of fortified wines from the grenache grape and what the AOC Maury is known for. The deep ruby colour matches the bouquet of red and black berries. Sweet and elegant on the palate, yet balanced with high acidity, try this fleshy, yet refreshing, fruity wine with red fruit or chocolate desserts. It is a seductive, pure Grenache that also pairs well with sweet and sour dishes. |
