The 2014 Columbia Valley growing season was the warmest on record, prompting growers to take extra care in the vineyards to ensure the Riesling grapes arrived at the winery full of fresh, vibrant character. Each canopy interior was hand-pruned and carefully trimmed to protect the clusters from excessive sun exposure while promoting uniform ripening. The warm fall temperatures accelerated ripening, while the Columbia Valley's signature cool autumn evenings preserved the grapes’ natural acidity.
