Crafted in Canada’s Niagara Peninsula, Henry of Pelham's 'The Goat Lady' Chardonnay is part of the Speck Brothers' Family Tree series. This wine pays homage to Marion, a neighbour who cared for goats near the vineyard and famously won over the Speck family's dog with warm bowls of fresh goat's milk. Henry of Pelham, a family-owned winery established in 1988, is renowned for producing expressive, terroir-driven wines from estate-grown grapes.
Wine Description
The 2022 vintage of 'The Goat Lady' Chardonnay is 100% Chardonnay, fermented and aged for seven months in American oak barrels. This process imparts a creamy, rich texture to the wine. On the nose, it offers inviting aromas of oak, vanilla, and butter, complemented by notes of tropical fruits like pineapple and mango, as well as green apple and melon. The palate is medium-bodied, featuring flavours of apple caramel and butterscotch, leading to a finish with hints of tangerine rind.
