This exceptional red wine hails from France, specifically from the renowned Côte Rôtie appellation in the northern Rhône Valley. E. Guigal, founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal, is one of the most respected producers in the Rhône. Now under the stewardship of Marcel and Philippe Guigal, the estate is celebrated for its meticulous vineyard management and dedication to expressing the character of each terroir.
Wine Description
The 2018 'Brune et Blonde de Guigal' reveals a deep ruby hue with garnet highlights. The nose is expressive and layered, offering aromas of ripe blackberry, dark cherry, violet, smoked meat, and subtle oak spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet remarkably balanced, featuring flavours of blackcurrant, plum, pepper, and hints of leather, supported by fine-grained tannins and a vibrant acidity. The finish is long and savoury, marked by delicate notes of licorice and minerality.
