Description:
Chateau d'Armailhac is an esteemed Fifth Growth estate located in the prestigious Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux. Formerly known as Mouton d’Armailhacq, the château was acquired by Baron Philippe de Rothschild in 1933 and remains under the ownership of the Rothschild family. With a history dating back to the 18th century, the estate plays a vital role in the Rothschild wine legacy, embodying a tradition of excellence and innovation.
Wine Description
This vintage displays a deep garnet hue with violet reflections. The bouquet opens with expressive aromas of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, interwoven with notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, and graphite. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, showing silky yet firm tannins and a fresh, elegant acidity. Flavours of cassis, plum, and mocha evolve into hints of pencil shavings and crushed stone, culminating in a long, precise finish.
Composed predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, this wine offers superb ageing potential and will evolve beautifully over the next 15–20 years. It balances youthful vibrancy with the promise of graceful maturity.
