Description:
Château Puybarbe is located in the Côtes de Bourg appellation of Bordeaux, France, perched at the highest elevation overlooking the Gironde estuary on the right bank. The 41-hectare vineyard, primarily planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, is managed by owners Anna and Riku Väänänen. Committed to sustainable viticulture, the estate is Biocyclic Vegan certified and in the final stages of organic conversion, avoiding herbicides and chemical fertilizers.
Wine Description
The Astral de Château Puybarbe 2020 is a Bordeaux-style red blend, predominantly Merlot with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. This young wine presents dark fruit and tobacco aromas, complemented by rich blackcurrant flavors. On the palate, it is full-bodied with abundant fruit, balanced acidity, and grippy tannins. The finish is rich and juicy, indicative of its aging potential.
